Winter Essential Skin Care Products

Winter is fast approaching and that means our skin inevitably suffers from the harsh weather. Not to worry, my friends. Take

a peek at these 7 essential skin care products that are like medicine to our skin.

1.Clinique Exfoliating Scrub
Just as the name says, it exfoliates your skin. It’s formulated more for oily skin types, but most skin types can use it to

slough off dead skin cells. Scrub up, ladies- it’ll leave your face feeling rejuvenated and soft.

2.Lancome Renergie Morpholift Eye Cream
The part of our face we tend to neglect is our eye area. It’s very delicate and it requires some extra TLC. This eye cream

from Lancome regenerates the eye area by diminishing puffiness, dark circles, and dreaded signs of aging.

3.Philosophy hope in a jar daily moisturizer
There’s hope for great skin, gals. This facial cream is suitable for all skin types. It moisturizes dry, parched skin and

it’s non-greasy, so it won’t clog your pores. It also contains exfoliating properties for a healthier, fresh looking face.

Skin Conditions that leads to Dry, Flaky Skin

Let me share to you the skin conditions that also lead to dry, flaky skin:

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder that causes raised red patches that itch, crack, or bleed. Sunlight can help reduce psoriatic symptoms. In the winter, most people get less sun, so the psoriasis flares up.

Eczema is a common skin condition characterized by red, swollen, dry and itchy skin. See your doctor if you have a family history of allergies or asthma since this will make you more susceptible to eczema.

Seborrheic dermatitis
is a skin condition causes flakiness on the face or dandruff on the scalp.

Are you suffering from any of the three skin conditions above?

Bursting capillaries

You’ve probably heard of getting unusual bruises from nowhere. No? Well let me explain.

In extreme sudden temperature changes, the capillaries just under the skin tend to burst and what results is a mess that nobody would want. Allowing your skin a 30 minute grace period solves this problem. Between bathing and going out to the frigid weather, an extremely hot and extremely cold exposure to the skin wears out our skin pretty quickly. By slowly letting your skin adjust itself to the room temperature, the gap between the two extremes is lessened and less stress is exerted on the skin’s delicate capillaries.

Home Heating System

One thing that you should consider in taking good care of your skin is your home heating system. As your furnace will be in constant use in the colder months, the air in your home can become extremely dry. If you do not have a humidifier built into your heating system, you should invest in a portable humidifier. Using a humidifier can prevent your skin from drying out, and it can help you avoid dry nasal cavities. If you do suffer from a dry or bleeding nose in the winter, apply some petroleum jelly for short-term relief. Try it because it works for me.

Chilly Winter Weather Causes Skin Woes For Men

Women know that a change in season means a change in skin care regime. But it is important to keep in mind that men have special winter skin care concerns that should not be overlooked.

Most people are unaware of how much sun damage they can sustain during the winter, and men especially need to take extra care of their skin during the cold season. Even during the wintry weather, the sun plays a significant role in causing skin damage. It is therefore just as vital to protect skin from the sun during the winter as it is in the summer.

Winter sun presents risks for skin cancer

While autumn brings piles of red-orange leaves and coats are dusted off for the upcoming winter weather, thoughts of sunscreen and bathing suits are quickly forgotten.

And so is skin cancer.

Health Education Coordinator Kathryn Steward said the chances of developing skin damage or skin cancer can still exist during colder months.
