Lip Balm Part 3

Several people may try to avoid the less organic variety of lip balm and opt for those beeswax-based or carnauba-based lip balms. Beeswax is a form of natural wax produced by young worker bees used to build honeycombs. Carnauba is also a natural wax but produced by palms Carnauba. The wax derived from the leaves is also known as the queen of waxes and comes in hard yellow-brown flakes.

Unfortunately, there are some people who have allergic reactions to beeswax or any other products that come in touch with pollen. People should take extra precaution when handling these “natural” lip balms.

Keeping sensitive skin smooth and silky during winter is a daunting task. The list below guides you on what to do with sensitive skin during the winter season.

1. Moisturize:- During winter, cold temperature drys your skin cells, so you need to lather your skin with a hypoallergenic moisturizer.

2. Shower Habits:- It is advisable that your water has aroma therapic oil that would soothe your skin and preferably the soap that you use should be rich in moisturizers.

3. Fabrics:- Select wool fabrics that helps you stay warm does not trigger your allergies, especially if you have skin allergy that is.

4. Hydrate:- Always drink lots and lots of water, salads and fruits.

5. Control the Room Temperature:- maintain a good amount of humidity inside your house, buy a humidifier if you have extra cash.

Using Lip Balms has several advantages

a)      Main types of lip balms that include those derived from petroleum products such as Vaseline or mineral oil are common and inexpensive.

b)      Some types of lip balm contain sunscreen, good for protecting those puckers against lip cancer. (Yes, there is such a thing!)

c)       They are easy to customize. Eg. For a matte lipstick, mix lip balm and eye shadow to appropriate proportions. A glossy lip tint can be achieved by mixing cherry Jell-O powder with lip balm.

d)      Drawing out lines on the skin around the lips helps protect against inevitable fine lines that appear later on.

Lip Balm Part 1

Being one of the most sensitive areas of the body, the lips deserve as much attention as any other part of our body like our hair or our face. For starters, the skin on the lips is the thinnest found on the entire body. This makes them extremely prone to sun, heat, and wind exposures.

A method most commonly used by people is licking their lips to rehydrate them. Unfortunately, this only aggravates the dehydration process since saliva evaporates more quickly, leaving the lips as parched as ever. Lip balms contain ingredients that lock the natural moisture in and form a protective surface around the lips.

Lip Gloss Part 3

Several disadvantages are:

a)      They rarely provide striking intense colors.

b)      Shine appears immature rather than polished in the professional world.

c)       Like lip sticks, they are sure to leave marks on every surface that your lip touches.

d)      Be prepared to make the wind your mortal enemy as you combat flyaway hair plastering to your face every day.

e)      They don’t provide precise applications and it is very easy to look like someone who just forgot to wipe their mouth after eating ice cream.

f)       Avoiding these series of problems requires one to buy the higher end lip glosses.

Lip Gloss has several advantages.

a)      Its subdued colors make it a suitable product for girls trying out their first make-up products.

b)      They add fullness and life to limp lips.

c)       They are available in a wide range of sheen, flavors, and colors.

d)      They are readily available in just about any store, be they convenient stores or high-end malls.

e)      Most lip glosses are sold in the affordable price range.

f)       They are easy to apply and handy to carry around.

g)      One can skip the ever-so-difficult to apply lip liner in favor of a more chic and easy-to-use lip cosmetic.

h)      They go great in combination with lip sticks.

Petroleum jelly, life saver in winter

9.jpg

Whether it be for the skin, for the lips, for the nails…(yes, for the nails), petroleum jelly has become a part of our winter skin care cosmetics set. Obviously, most of us have used petroleum jelly for the lips at one point in time or another. It is also great for softening feet and is a major component of most lotions.

People wonder what role petroleum jelly plays in helping nails cope with winter. Well, for starters, we all know that our cuticles, even though they’re made up of dead cells, are still sensitive to that harsh winter wind. So here’s a tip to avoid weak, splitting nails. One, get enough water intake. Not too much, but not too less either. Two, make a nightly routine of massaging petroleum jelly into your nails. This will soften them up and make your nails more fresh and alive.
